Wand
Representing the power and force of the wielder, the wand is a tool of command (cf the traditional sceptre or rod). Wands may take many forms. As well as the traditional attribution of fire (some say air), it may be attributable to any element as a focus to direct the energy of that element using an appropriate wood, e.g. willow for a water wand, oak for earth, and not forgetting, of course, the caduceus, which is appropriate to air as the symbol of healing.
Spear
Often attributed to Mars and the Sun, the Spear also represents power and force.
Stave/Stang
Although here attributed to Fire, the Stave may also be attributed to Spirit, being used to direct the will and do such things as casting the circle, as a sword. It is a very useful tool for outdoor work, being easy to carry without attracting attention (like a sword might, for example). The same use and convenience is true of the stang, which also represents the Horned God (with two points) and the Goddess (three points).
Rattle/Sistrum
The rattle is often used as a cleansing or banishing, and both are good for their invigorating qualities.
